Her unique style, versatility and intense kindness will prove that in the moment you meet her. She loves theater more than anything and being in a show is her happy place. She loves the process, the product, and the people. Rivers started studying with me while I music directed Heathers with OBTC in San Diego. She was a close contender for the lead role and a very young talent in the cast. She went on to do Freaky Friday at SDMT, which won her a National Youth Arts Award in 2018-2019. She was phenomenal as Ellie. It is an extremely demanding role and she learned how to pace herself and mix in important places in the show to connect her emotional journey and arc. She proved night after night to apply what she was learning in lessons as an actor in a pre-professional show. She also participated in the NATS Student Auditions and won an honorable mention the same year! She is now on the college frontier, looking at majoring in Theatre or Musical Theatre. On the straight acting front, she performed Helena in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at her high school recently. She also plays the piano and dabbles in guitar. Her sense of humor and depth to offer as an activist, listener, learner, performer, and friend are some of the things I love about working with her.
