Spotlight on Sami Nye

Sami Nye plays Debbie Ashley on TV’s Betrayed and has performed aboard the Seabourn Sojourn with Sir Time Rice, regional houses in LA and San Diego, Disneyland, and was interviewed for Voyage LA. Sami reached out after working Allison Spratt Pearce, who was Amalia in San Diego Musical Theater’s production of She Loves Me and had prepared the role (and other ongoing auditions) with me in the studio. I saw the production and was impressed with Sami’s magnetic charm, adorable dancing energy and vulnerability as Illona. Sami started over the summer and is committed to improving her technique while in quarantine and takes lessons every couple of weeks. We are really enjoying working on repertoire that is not immediately in need of performing, so we can cultivate her sound and make sure it is the most efficient production possible for future auditions.
