I have known Kiara for almost 4 years, and she is a literal icon. She suffers from audition performance anxiety—but you’d never know it. With her ballroom dance background, she has a grace that is so strong and a charisma in spades that is completely disarming. She shows vulnerability in her acting and can light up the stage with confidence. We have worked on classical pieces, musical theater, pop and rock and audition cuts for many youth theatre shows and professional shows in San Diego. She is open and honest and enjoys finding freedom in her belt and mix sounds with the added element of bodywork and brain techniques. In fact, during a show I was music directing, she frequently borrowed my “calming” colored glasses that matched her green Heathers outfit and shared her “neuro” warm-ups with other students (actually making “fetch” a thing if you know what I mean). However, she is the furthest thing from a Mean Girl. But I wouldn’t be surprised if she ended up in that show someday or Hamilton. I can’t wait to see where she goes in her professional career and college if she chooses to go that route. Either way, she is a force to be reckoned with!
